About me

          Hello! My name is Maddie and I'm currently a junior at Hendrickson High School. While this is my first year in an art class, my love of it stems from the beginning of 2023. While I had always admired other's ability to draw, whenever I would start things I would rarely finish, as I would get discouraged and give up if it didn't look the way I wanted. But last year I decided to challenge myself to fill up an entire sketchbook by the end of sophomore year, and I did! I completely surprised myself by how much I grew in my abilities and how much I enjoyed it, and I hope to keep improving as I go through the rest of highschool.

          Besides this, some of my other hobbies include reading (my favorite series' being Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games, and The Lunar Chronicles), dancing (I'm currently in 2 dance classes at school), and going on walks. I was an Xcel Platinum at Capital Gymnastics up until this summer, and got all the way up to my red belt (2nd highest rank) in karate before the program closed freshman year. Although I'm not in these sports anymore, you can still find me walking in a handstand through the house, or trying out different flips with my fans. In addition to all this, I'm (poorly) trying to teach myself how to skateboard and ice skate.
